Boyd Smith, RET co-chair

Boyd Smith has been a resident of Palo Alto since 1956. He is married to Jill Johnson Smith and they have five children. Boyd’s educational background includes earning a Bachelor of Science in Economics from University of Utah in 1962 and a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University in 1964.

Boyd’s current professional affiliations include being cofounder and member of the board of directors of the California Family Foundation; member of the Hoover Institution Board of Overseers; and member, Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health board of directors. Previous involvements include the Board of Governors of Stanford Associates, and the board of directors for the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce. Boyd served as chairman of the board for the YMCA of the Mid-Peninsula, the Children’s Health Council and Avenidas (formerly Senior Coordinating Council of the Palo Alto Area).
