Abe Darwish

Abe Darwish is a leader in Corporate real estate and facilities management. He is known for his ability to provide and implement innovative, cost-effective workplace solutions for dynamic and complex business situations.

Darwish calls on more than 30 years of international business experience and special emphasis in the high tech industry to turn real estate and facilities management services into competitive advantage for his clients. He offers an integrated approach to evaluation, planning and implementation of real estate and workplace strategies in corporate settings. Some of his key accomplishments include:

  • Developed and managed over 150 expansion and/or relocation projects throughout the world (from 5,000 sq. ft. office to 500,000 sq. ft. facility).
  • Developed and implemented plans to right-size several companies real estate portfolio, reducing occupancy cost 20%-50%.
  • Managed all aspects of the disposition process of 120 excess properties throughout the world.
  • Managed an effective global team and a portfolio of over 5.5 Million sq. ft. of office, R&D, data centers and manufacturing space in 190 locations.
  • Led several Campus development teams worldwide form projects inception to move-in, through site acquisitions, master plan, design, construction and transition to operating facilities. 11 Campus development projects ranges from 1.4 Million sq. ft. to 250,000 sq. ft.
  • Led real estate and facilities management efforts in support of 25 mergers, acquisations, and spin-offs achieving cost reduction in 15%-30%.
  • Acquired, increased the entitlements by 100% and sold 72 acres site in San Jose, achieving over $190 Million in net profit.

Darwish’s career includes both real estate development and facilities management. He has held leadership positions with Exodus Corporation, 3Com Corporation, Rolm Corporation, Portfolio Property Investors and Veteran’s Administration Medical Centers. He has managed both small and large organizations, improved existing facilities operations, and built workplace environments from the ground up, worldwide. He has been a creative force in innovative campus development, outsourcing, workplace planning, and development joint ventures both in the U.S. and overseas. He has been at the forefront in leveraging information technology and connectivity to enhance the productivity of real estate and facilities management professionals.

He is also active in the community as the Co-Chairman of Design Response a non-profit organization that helps other non-profit organizations and schools improve their physical working environment. He is also a Board member of Next Door a non-profit organization that provides solutions to domestic violence.

Darwish holds a B.S. degree in Engineering from San Jose State University and completed postgraduate work in real estate and management.
