Bob Hines
Chief Executive Officer, Tri-County Apartment Association
Bob Hines was appointed Chief Executive Officer for Tri-County Apartment Association (TCAA) in October 2003 after serving as the association’s Government Relations Director since January 2001. TCAA is the nonprofit association representing the rental housing industry in San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz Counties. TCAA members build, own and manage residential rental housing. With over 3,500 members representing 13,000 rental housing owners, TCAA is the largest chapter of the California Apartment Association.
Prior to joining TCAA, Bob served as Chief of Staff for California State Assemblyman Jim Cunneen (R-San Jose) from 1994 through 2000. While responsible for supervising both the Capitol and District Assembly Offices, Bob also served as Cunneen’s chief policy adviser.
Prior to working for Assemblyman Cunneen, Bob was an Army Captain serving six years in the Judge Advocate General Corps. He was stationed at military installations throughout the West Coast, Alaska and Central America. His last assignment was at the Presidio of San Francisco where he led a team of attorneys involved in the transition of the Presidio to the National Park Service.
Bob and his wife Catherine live in Los Altos. He is an attorney and member of the California Bar. Bob graduated from the University of Virginia Law School. He also graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a BA in Political Science and a BA with honors in Economics.
